Dr. Erika Kappes Zavyalov

Dr. Erika Kappes, DO

Dr. Erika Kappes is a board-certified psychiatrist originally from the Northern Virginia area. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia and attended medical school at Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. She was commissioned as an Army Officer prior to attending medical school and went on to complete her residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, where she served as Chief Resident. After residency, she was stationed at Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield near Savannah, Georgia, where she worked in multiple embedded behavioral health clinics, inpatient settings, hospital clinics, and as a behavioral health consultant to Army leadership. She also has experience with telepsychiatry and concierge medicine.

Dr. Kappes has a passion for mental and physical wellness and she strives to provide concierge level care to each patient. Her main interests lie in nutrition, holistic and integrative psychiatry, performance optimization and pharmacology.

Lauren Skeffington (LaPierre), PA-C

Lauren Skeffington, MS, PA-C is a board-certified Psychiatric Physician Assistant. She completed her undergraduate studies at Northeastern University in Biology/Psychology with extensive research training at Harvard University. She holds graduate degrees from Georgetown University and George Washington University in Biochemistry and Physician Assistant studies. Professionally, she has nearly 10 years of experience as a PA in internal medicine and Psychiatry at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) with training at the National Institutes of Mental Health (NIMH). She is currently completing a Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) degree in Psychiatry at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions (RMUoHP). Lauren is passionate about evidence-based care of the whole person, and incorporates multiple treatment modalities such as nutrition, exercise, health coaching, and pharmacology. Lauren lives in Northern Virginia with her husband, two toddlers, and dog. In her free time, she enjoys running, yoga, and travelling.

​​Dr. Jasmine Ferrill, LMFT


Dr. Jasmine Ferrill is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and an American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) Approved Supervisor and Mentor. Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Dr. Ferrill has traveled throughout the country in pursuit of higher education. She completed her undergraduate degree in psychology at Hampton University, master’s degree in marriage in family therapy at Northwestern University, and doctoral degree in marriage and family therapy at Florida State University. Dr. Ferrill has also served as Assistant Professor in Virginia Tech’s master of marriage and family therapy program and is currently an Adjunct Professor at University of Maryland in their master of couple and family therapy program. In addition to her service in academia, Dr. Ferrill has clinical experience working with couples, individuals, and families from diverse backgrounds in traditional outpatient and community settings throughout Chicago, Washington DC, Tallahassee, Middle Georgia, and Northern Virginia.

Throughout her career as a therapist, supervisor, and professor, Dr. Ferrill has grounded her work in the practice of cultural humility and systems thinking. She is intentional about attuning to the intersecting identities that make each client unique while also situating personal experience within their larger context. This holistic perspective sets the foundation for clients to feel safe and empowered to embark on a journey towards changing their lives for the better.

​​Jennifer Manz, LPC


Jennifer Manz is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) working with clients facing a wide range of mental health, relationship, and wellness goals. Jennifer earned a dual M.Ed./Ed.S. in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Virginia and a B.A. from Washington & Lee University and maintains a license to practice in both Virginia and Maryland.

Serving previously in a variety of clinical roles and settings, Jennifer brings robust knowledge with different ages, backgrounds, and acuity to her client panel. Her prior experience includes outpatient and crisis counseling in a college counseling center, prevention services for pregnant and postpartum women, inpatient care for children and adolescents, and community mental health/social work. As a counselor, Jennifer strives to develop a trusting therapeutic relationship that establishes a safe and supportive environment and allows clients to realize their potential to heal themselves.

Judy Allen L.Ac

Judy Allen L.Ac is a Virginia, Maryland, and New York board-licensed acupuncturist certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She received her Master of Science from the Virginia University of Integrative Medicine and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Mary Washington.

Judy is passionate about helping empower her patients along their healing journey, lending a compassionate ear, and helping them find relief from pain. She believes that the body has an innate capacity and knowledge for self- healing. Jusy's areas of experience include pain conditions (such as musculoskeletal pain, fibromyalgia, arthritis), infertility, labor prep, menstrual imbalance, headaches, migraines, insomnia, anxiety, stress, allergies, congestion, and more. Some of her treatments include acupuncture, cupping, electro-acupuncture, and moxibustion.

Cody Bressette, MBA, PMP

Cody Bressette is the Office Manager for District Psychiatry and Wellness. He holds a Bachelor's in Business Management from the University of South Florida, and a Master's in Business Administration from the Florida Institute of Technology. After serving nearly a decade as an Army Officer, he became a project manager in the defense and aerospace industry and co-founded District Psychiatry and Wellness with Dr. Kappes.
